Our Story

Smart Marketing & Events is a sign board and branding company based in Velachery, Chennai. Our founder, Praveen Devaraj, began in 2010 as a freelance merchandising agent with V5 Global Services (PPMS) And Communic marketing solution , working on events until 2013. That included the Microsoft Windows launch and the iPhone 5S launch.

In 2017 he started his own printing unit with two partners. The partnership did not work out, and he came out of it. After working as a freelancer again from 2018, he started Smart Marketing & Events in 2022 with zero investment and two team members beside him.

We began with service only, providing manpower, and used the payments from that work to build our own printing unit. Then came a big task from Ashok Leyland, the 100 ft signage at Phoenix Market City that others refused, and the front elevation and Dhoni sticker for the new Cauvery Hospital branch in Kovilambakkam. Soon the hard jobs in Chennai started coming to us.

Today we handle signage, branding, printing, fabrication and installation. One team looks after the project from design and printing through fabrication and installation, so our clients deal with one point of contact instead of many. We work with businesses, shops, offices, brands, events and commercial spaces across Chennai.

Our office is small, but our milestones are big.

  1. 2010

    A freelance merchandising agent

    I started as a freelance merchandising agent with Communic Marketing Solution, working on events and merchandising.

  2. 2013

    Working with V5 Global Services

    In 2013 I worked with V5 Global Services (PPMS) on events and as a merchant agent.

    Microsoft Windows launch

    Our team handled the Microsoft Windows launch.

  4. 2013

    iPhone 5S launch

    Along with V5 Global, I worked on the iPhone 5S launch.

  5. 2017

    My first printing unit

    I started my own printing unit with two partners. The partnership did not work out, and I came out of it.

  6. 2022

    Smart Marketing & Events is born

    I started Smart with zero investment, with two team members beside me. We began with service only, providing manpower.

    The payments and funds from that work paid for everything that came next.

    Building our printing unit

    Using the funds from our services, we built Smart into a company with its own printing unit.

    Our big task: Ashok Leyland

    Ashok Leyland gave us a big task, and we reached the market very well.

  9. Growth years

    100 ft signage at Phoenix Market City

    Everyone else refused this job. We took it, started the project and completed it, and it helped us grow in the mall.

  10. Growth years

    Cauvery Hospital, Kovilambakkam

    We were invited for their new branch opening. We did the front elevation and pasted the Dhoni sticker.

  11. Today

    Chennai's hard jobs come to us

    After these projects we earned a good name in the market, and the toughest jobs in Chennai now come to us. Our office is small, but our milestones are big and our growth has been fast.
